Let Us Introduce Ourselves
Welcome to the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals Reformation Society’s Website. We at the Alliance have endeavored to make this as clean, informative and as easy to navigate for you to acquire vital and helpful information. We hope you will agree.
An integral part of the new website will be our daily blog. It will contain doctrinal articles that I trust will become a part of your daily devotional time in God’s Word. Each week will feature a new series of blogs running daily,Monday thru Friday and one blog for the weekend. The blogs will compliment the Reformation Societies commitment to the Word of God, the Bible, being the final authority of faith and practice for the believer in Jesus Christ.
I am Dr. Thomas R. Clothier and I serve the Alliance as the managing/executive editor of the Reformation Society’s website. My primary task involves keeping current with our blog and maintaining contact information with our Reformation Societies. I look forward to hearing from you as to how we at the Alliance may serve our Lord Jesus Christ more effectively as we minister to you. My email address is drtom.fcc@gmail.com.
The Protestant Reformation’s enduring legacy centers upon the doctrines of the “solas.” The Reformers believed and taught these five truths and they remain indispensible to the health of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the growth of the church. Why? It is because these five tenants (Sola Scriptura; Sola Gratia; Sola Fide; Solus Christus; Soli deo Gloria) did not originate with the Reformers of the Reformation. On the contrary, the Reformers rediscovered truths God had given and which had long been buried by the church and the culture. Therefore, the “solas” are to be continually studied, embraced, taught, and defended as God’s eternal truth in a fallen, temporal, and worldly civilization.
In covenant with the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals, whose purpose is to call the Church amidst a dying culture to repent of its worldliness, to recover and confess the truth of God’s Word as did the Reformers, and to see that truth embodied in doctrine, worship, and life. The Reformation Societies are committed to the inerrant Word of God in principle and practice and to the solas in particular.
The Reformation Societies originated with the goal of communicating God’s biblical truth, which Reformed Theology clearly reveals. As an affiliated ministry of the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals, its purpose is to promote opportunities for evangelical pastors and lay leaders to periodically meet, as each labor for the sake of the gospel of grace in their local churches. The society seeks to encourage, embolden, and equip pastors and other church leaders for the preaching, teaching, and relying upon the gospel as the particular means given by the Triune God for the building of Christ’s Church.
May God bless you as we seek to serve Him and bring Him glory: both now and forever. Amen!
