Cambridge Declaration Twenty-fifth Anniversary

Each generation must own for itself the cardinal truths of the faith once for all delivered to the saints, and ours is no exception. —Gabriel Fluhrer, Solid Ground

In April 1996, the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals held a major meeting of evangelical leaders in Cambridge, MA. The result?

The Cambridge Declaration:

  • Calling the evangelical Church to reject worldly methods for ministry
  • Rediscovering and implementing the five “Solas” of the Protestant Reformation in all of life

Despite its large budgets and numerous adherents, the evangelical church is in serious trouble today. The reason is that it has forgotten its theology – thousands within our churches no longer understand or know the importance of such doctrines as “Scripture Alone,” “Faith Alone,” “Grace Alone,” and “Christ Alone” – the very truths for which our forebearers were willing to lay down their lives.

The Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals is a coalition of Christians who hold the historic creeds and confessions of the Reformed faith and who proclaim biblical doctrine in order to foster a Reformed awakening in today’s Church. Through events, radio, podcasts, websites, devotionals, books and booklets, Alliance members have a global impact that shares the Gospel and encourages and equips the Church.

You can join this effort! If you believe strongly in the need for a modern reformation and hold fast to the evangelical affirmations of the Protestant Reformation become a subscribing member
